How much longer is the trip? Quiet time again already? When is my birthday? Every day, children ask thousands of questions, very often connected to aspects of time. With Timebow, the smart Swiss timepiece, some of these recurring questions can easily be minimised. With the help of light and colours, the course of a period of time is displayed in such a way that children can recognise the time of individual events and see how long it takes until a certain event occurs. Based on a simple operating concept, the “waiting time” can be set in minutes, hours, and days for up to five events in parallel. The symbols serve as a guide so that the remaining time for each event can be accessed independently by the child. Thanks to the Timebow, everyday family life is simplified, and the child’s understanding of time is brought closer in a child-friendly, playful way. And overall, your family will have even better quality of life.

Swiss Made with the right partner from Central Switzerland
“We place a strong emphasis on regionality, sustainability and Swiss Made design. This is why we looked for partners in Switzerland for our product from the very beginning”, explains Mathias Teber, founder of Vanmilia AG. On the recommendation of his development partner, Teber contacted vonrickenbach.swiss ag to produce the knob and base for his Timebow timepiece innovation. After various test runs with different types of wood and specific adaptations, series production of the two parts using certified Swiss wood could begin.
Timebow - Use of the latest 5-axis CNC technology
The production of the two wooden parts requires high precision as they are then assembled with the other metal and plastic parts and must fit exactly. During the production and solid wood processing with our 5-axis CNC machines, the small size of the wooden parts and the high cutting pressure during milling mean that fixing the parts presents a great challenge.
Furthermore, the parts must be milled with a high surface quality in order to keep the manual and thus cost-intensive finishing work as low as possible. After the fine sanding, which is largely carried out by hand, the parts are finished with a “child-friendly” surface treatment in the form of a food-safe lacquer and the logo is engraved using laser technology.
