SOLID WOOD.
High problem-solving competence.
Solid wood competences
Solid wood has been our passion over many decades, we have acquired broad knowledge in the procurement of solid wood. Buying good wood is challenging and takes a lot of time. Because each tree is different and must be carefully examined before being purchased. When dealing with expensive varieties, we inspect the trunk in person. Purchases must be planned a long time ahead because all wood purchased must dry for a long time before processing, first naturally and then technically. We are also highly specialised in solid wood processing and pioneers in 5-axis CNC technology.
Consultancy
We are delighted to provide our expertise and advise architects, carpenters, designers, technical collages, and company project managers. We support our customers in the implementation and construction of solid wood furniture such as chairs, stools, tables, shelves, beds, etc. Together we examine the feasibility and then decide on the materials, construction, stability, and profitability. We are happy to manufacture prototypes and support customers in serial manufacture. If desired, we can carry out official tests on seating furniture. We use cutting-edge technology for processing. All your wishes can come true, thanks to the wide-ranging machine park and vast expertise coupled with Swiss quality and superior design.
CNC Milling
Our daily tasks include radii, angles, special profiles and concave or convex surfaces. Our specialty lies in complex processing with the FIVE-AXLE CNC MACHINE or in the execution of efficient and thus more cost-efficient production of large series that are complex to process. This requires broad expertise of milling tools and their use. But experience in the areas of cutting speed, rotation speed, milling strategy and wood anatomy is also decisive for a precise and rational performance. Thanks to this pioneering spirit, we benefit today from unique expertise in five-axle milling technology.
We are proud to be amongst the pioneers in using five-axle CNC technology in wood processing. At the beginning of the 1990s, a young team took up this challenge with the director at the time, Paul von Rickenbach. Two of these people still work for us and contribute their broad knowledge to our great benefit.
Laser
A great deal of intuition is needed to operate the laser. Not every type of wood – not even every piece of wood of one type – can be lasered in the same way. Efficiency also plays a major role, so that the best possible result can be achieved. Last but not least, our employees have a good eye for the ideal lasering and possess a great deal of experience.
Woodcutting
Cutting wood requires good craftsmanship and a well-trained eye. The employee must be able to visualize the end product so that he can select the right wood-type and the right part of it. On the one hand, the piece must be suitable for further processing (no defects in the wood), on the other hand, there should be as little waste wood as possible. Wood is an expensive and valuable raw material, especially with valuable wood species such as oak or walnut, a high yield is of extreme importance in order to be able to optimize material costs.
