We are very proud of our many years of cooperation with the traditional Swiss company VictorinoxVICTORINOX . It started off with the perfume packaging field, followed by a request for an initial series of wood grips for knives. Many more series for the HUNTER PRO MODEL followed, allowing us to repeatedly impress Victorinox with our precision in manufacturing, our innovations and our commitment to collaborative product development.
The latest product presented us with an inspiring new assignment: a representation of the classic officer’s knife, made entirely of wood, to a scale of 2.5:1.
We were entrusted with the project following a fascinating briefing and manufacturing of the prototype could then begin.
The knives neatly and precisely reproduce all the details of every part of the knife in Swiss wood and guarantee all the moving functions of a genuine officer’s knife. The cases are made from a single piece of walnut and the blades of sturdy maple wood.
The reproduction can be taken apart and put back together like a construction set.
We wanted to retain every interesting technical detail of the ORIGINAL VICTORINOX OFFICER’S KNIFE; including the blade function which snaps to a non-linear position when opened and shut.
In order to replicate this movement and ensure the spring effect without the wood breaking, we used a special wood material which acts like a spring while remaining sufficiently stable and strong.
A further notable challenge during manufacturing, besides the precise and fully consistent filigree work, was fixing the parts using the CNC-MACHINE. Our TEAM mastered this very well thanks to its broad KNOWLEDGE and the latest TECHNOLOGIES.
We are very proud to have been able to manufacture this high quality prototype for VICTORINOX and will inform you here as soon as the product is available in stores.
