DESIGN AND INNOVATION IN SAMEDAN
From July 1 to October 15, 2017, vonrickenbach.swiss AG is part of the "PostAlpin" exhibition at the "La Tuor" cultural centre in Samedan in the Engadin. This is a project led by the Institute for Integrative Design of the Northwest Switzerland University of Applied Sciences (FHNW). The focus is on the term design and its importance for sustainable development. Cutting-edge technology and innovation - like in our company - play an important role in this.
Thanks to our cutting-edge CNC machines and the latest laser technology, we can make our VISION come true. Designers, architects, carpenters but also design-conscious marketing and distribution professionals count on our knowledge and our many years’ experience.
Cooperation with the FHNW
Well trained staff are important – also when it comes to innovation. For this reason, we work closely with technical colleges. We advise young designers and help make creative ideas become reality. Students at the University of Applied Sciences for Design and Art at FHNW in Basel constantly plan and carry out projects in the framework of their studies. One current project is called “PostAlpin”, and is accompanied by an exhibition at the “LA TUOR” CULTURAL CENTRE in Samedan. And the furniture factory is live on location.
PostAlpin – a research project on the subject of design
“Design contributes to economic and social value in individual companies and thus to sustainable development.” The INSTITUTE FOR INTEGRATIVE DESIGN AT FHNW examined this claim. They focussed on the effects of design and innovation – especially in alpine and rural parts of Switzerland. Since design and innovation are important success factors for sustainable development in our company in Muotathal, we were able to introduce ourselves in the framework of the exhibition.

From July 1 to October 15, 2017, visitors to Samedan can experience Swiss and international companies that create high quality products in creative, innovative and thus persuasive ways in this time of change and attain sustainable profitable development. Whether cheese, furniture, beer or skis are being manufactured. We identify with our region, but know no borders, cantonal or national, when it comes to serious quality requirements and openness to new things.
